Frequently asked questions

Are these films the same as HIE and EIR?

Yes, these are exactly the same emulsion and base as Kodak's 35mm HIE and EIR films

Are the films refrigerated?

Yes, I refrigerate all film after rolling it because I keep an inventory of it. After you purcahse it,
there is no need to refrigerate it unless you plan to not use it for some time.

Can I use the same filters and development as I normally do?

Yes, you can expect identical results with the same filters and devlopment.

When my film arrived, one of the canisters was partially open. Is the film ok?

Absolutely! This film is very light-tight so you can feel totally comfortable opening the film canister.

Will you be offering the film in 220?

No,  I have no plans to offer the film in 220.

How long will this film be available?

I plan to offer this film in 120 for as long as Kodak makes 70mm film.
I like to use it too!

I want to order both color and black and white film. The minimum order
is 3 rolls. Does that mean 3 of each?

No, you can mix or match. The combined order must be at least 3 rolls.

Paypal will not allow me to specify a different shipping address, what can I
do?

This is PayPal's policy, but all you need to do is include a note to me asking me to ship it to a
different address. If the address is not within the U.S., refer to my international order policy below.

Do you ship international orders?

Yes, I do accept international orders using PayPal. There is a an additional $15.00 charge for
shipping outside the USA, in addition to the regular US shipping rates.

How about shipment? Is there a danger of x-rays or heat damage?

No, I don't believe so. The film is shipped USPS Priority mail and usually takes only 2 days to arrive.

Heat is much less of a concern than people think. I've never had film ruined, even after leaving
my camera loaded with HIE in a hot car for a half day (several times last summer). Kodaks's
reccomendations for storage of B&W IR film are no different than regular B&W films When I
order 35mm HIE from B&H photo, it never comes packed on ice.
